Current funding opportunities in cancer research

Australian – European Union Health Research Grants

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) – European Union (EU) Collaborative Research Grants scheme aims to assist Australian researchers to participate in projects with international researchers that have been selected for funding under the Seventh Framework Programme of the European community for research and technology development (FP7).

Projects involving Australian researchers based in Australia that are chosen for funding, may be eligible for NHMRC support. The following issues will be considered when assessing eligible projects:

  • relevance of the research to health or health related outcomes
  • value of the Australian contribution to the EU research
  • value to Australian research from Australian participation

The total NHMRC funds available under each call is AUD $2 million and will close when funding is exhausted.
